There's no monster under the bed despite what lobbyists and some sites will have you to believe.

If you read some of the posts made on Twitter by the Poker Players Alliance and others you'd think that online poker is under attack yet again

The decree now is for players to speak out against having online poker attached to "must pass" legislation over the coming days in Congress.

We're here to give you three reasons why poker players do not have to worry about any type of "Doomsday Scenario" this year.

RAWA Died - So Who Would Support a Ban?

It became painfully obvious over the last few weeks that the Restoration of America's Wire Act (RAWA) doesn't have nearly the amount of support that backers claim it did.

During a recent hearing even the committee floating the measure turned on the bill and supported state's rights. Next, only eight Attorney Generals support RAWA in 2015. That's half the number from 2014.

While Congress is known for underhanded shenanigans in the past there's usually some type of warning for those paying attention.

Gambling Ban Banned from Spending Bill Already

According to Politico, an online gambling ban has already been scrapped from this year's spending bill.

For anyone that follows politics even remotely, you know that is essentially the death knell for anything resembling RAWA during the "silly session" of Congress.

The odds of a gambling ban being attached to another bill are slim based on Congressional history. You typically don't see a measure randomly slapped onto bills until it sticks.

Lawmakers Aren't Going to Risk it Until Lame Duck 2016

Ultimately, online gambling is too volatile an issue for some lawmakers to tackle with an election year around the corner.

Those that are due for election next year don't want to take part in anything that will certainly be used against them in a negative way unless there is some type of upside.

There's no political upside to an online gambling ban.

We'd pay more attention to next year's "Lame Duck" session. With lawmakers on the way out and others having secured their spots for another session, you might see shenanigans then because they have very little to lose.

For this year, the monster will stay asleep under your bed.
